NEWS: As of June 1, 2013, passing scores for Praxis I will be a requirement for applying to ARTC.
Visit www.ets.org to register for Praxis I and to find out how you might qualify to waive one or two sections of that three-part examination.
Praxis II, a test of knowledge in specific content areas, will also become a requirement later this year.
The 2013 Project Search, the education job fair sponsored by the University of Delaware BoA Career Services Center and the University Council on Teacher Education (UCTE) will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Bob Carpenter Sports Convocation Center at the University of Delaware. In April, the University of Delaware’s professional education unit was granted accreditation for their initial teacher preparation and advanced preparation levels through the NCATE national accreditation process. Delaware Transition to Teaching Partnership (DT3P) is a five-year federal grant to help recruit Science, Technology, English, and Math secondary education teachers for high-needs schools in Delaware. Using the Alternative Routes to Certification (ARTC) (http://www.artc.udel.edu) model , candidates take courses during their first two years to acquire certification. Under the DT3P program they also have the use of a personal coach for the first year, specialized workshops, scholarships towards tuition, and financial help with Praxis I and II tests.
